Mission statement

Why write a blog about what video games you’re playing? Isn’t that just a waste of time about a waste of time? A meta-waste of time, as it were?

Sure, to you, maybe. But it’s like this:

I like video games. And a few older folks I’ve known do this “duuuuh” face when impersonating people playing video games. But it’s not like that. I’m thinkin’ thoughts, man. When I sit down to play a game, I must be getting something out of it. I’m forming opinions about it and learning the quirks of it and ultimately coming back to it. So this blog is here to ask myself the following questions:

• What am I getting out of this game?
• What do I like or not like about it?
• What’s motivating me to continue playing it?

It’s about reflecting on an often undocumented experience. Here’s hoping I get something out of it, eh?
